Loss of hair can deter your confidence level to a new low

We have often come across pictures of our uncles and aunties who used to look great during their youths. But if we compare them with what they look now, we see a huge difference in their appearance. We see that they have wrinkles on their face and most importantly they have lost lot of hair which makes them look older. People start losing their hair right from the age of 30 and by the time they become 40, they become half bald. This has a very negative impact on the level of self confidence of an individual and they start looking for expensive options to get back what they have lost over the years.

It becomes very important to understand that you have to preserve what you have before things start going out of your control. We ideally do not pay much heed to our hair but when we start losing them, we also begin worrying and this is when we feel that we should have done something to prevent them from losing. We ideally lose around 100 hairs a day but that should not be a cause of concern. Those hairs are replaced by new hair in a short time but the problem is when you begin losing lot of hair while shampooing or brushing your hair. This is when you should be alarmed and take preventive actions to curb the problem.

Hair loss can happen because of side-effects of taking certain medications like antidepressants or other high dozed drugs. People with cancer have to take life saving high dozed drugs which become the reason of loss of hair. Also woman experience severe hair loss after pregnancy or after having gone through a major surgery. Well, not much can be done in cases like these. However, once can definitely visit a dermatologist and check what can be done to stop hair fall and to possibly get back what you have lost.

Another major reason of hair loss is hereditary. Many people have lost hair because of hereditary reasons and they find it difficult to counter. So if your parents are bald or have thin hair, it means that you have to act soon to protect yours. Especially for women, if their mother’s hair is thin then they should be extra careful with their hair as it might affect them from an early age. People with hereditary hair loss problem should report the problem without any delay to the dermatologist and check if they need to consume any oral drug or just applying some sort of oil will help them cure the issue.

Curing hair loss may take time and one have to very patient while he/she is undergoing treatment. It is advisable that they should not switch dermatologists if they don’t see any results in the near future. They should stick around with one dermatologist and allow him/her to continue the therapy. For many it takes good deal of time to get healed from this problem so patience is the key for such people.
